Professionalizing the Knight Society NIL Collective
The Knight Society (KS) was an endorsed NIL collective by Rutgers Athletics, serving as the premier platform for student-athlete brand partnerships. To compete in the evolving NIL landscape, the collective needed to operate with structure, legitimacy, and a dependable financial model. Over a sustained, multi-year period, Infue helped establish KS as a professional, self-sustaining enterprise, building the business development division and operational systems necessary for its success.

The Opportunity: Instilling Purpose in a Nascent Market
The challenge was not just securing financial opportunities; it was creating an NIL collective with intentional strategy and sustainable operations. Infue’s mission was to deliver creative solutions that were financially sound, enabling KS to attract major corporate partnerships and integrate athletes into high-profile activations.
Our Solution: Strategic Guidance and Operational Support
Infue provided the creative strategy, business acumen, and logistical support required to professionalize the collective. Key initiatives included:
1. Building the Partnership Division with Intention:
High-Profile Corporate Alignment: Launched and managed the partnership between Knight Society, Flecha Azul Tequila (co-founded by Mark Wahlberg), and Stirling Fine Wines, including donations to Rutgers student-athletes. This partnership showcased KS’s ability to secure and manage high-caliber brand alignment.
Business Development Division: Built and managed the brand partnerships division, creating a pipeline for corporate relationships with companies like Prudential & UBS.
Athlete Appearances & Retail Activation: Coordinated complex, public-facing events, including a successful meet-and-greet at Dick’s Sporting Goods featuring now San Antonio Spurs phenom Dylan Harper and Rutgers players Jeremiah Williams and Zach Martini. These events created a professional model for future athlete/retailer collaborations.
2. Creating Signature Events to Spark Change:
The Scarlet Open: Launched and managed the first two years of this annual signature event, refining logistics and maximizing profitability.
LeGrand Knight: Co-created this high-value, intimate event with Eric LeGrand and Team LeGrand, establishing a mainstay fundraiser that fused philanthropy and NIL activation, while showcasing the collective’s operational sophistication.

The Impact: Meaningful Change and Sustainable Momentum
Infue’s work delivered measurable results and positioned KS for success during its active period:
High-Profile Validation: The partnership with Flecha Azul elevated the collective’s profile and legitimacy.
Established Annual Events: The Scarlet Open and LeGrand Knight created predictable, recurring revenue streams.
Operational Autonomy: Professional systems and processes ensured the collective could scale operations and manage complex partnerships with confidence.
Strategic Positioning: During its active period, KS was positioned as a leading, endorsed NIL collective by Rutgers Athletics, capable of delivering both high-value experiences for athletes and dependable outcomes for corporate partners.
